Across the country pharmacists including the pharmacist at Aubrey Pharmacy is leveraging their relationship with patients to provide quality care through med sync (medication synchronization) programs. Med sync also allows you to work with our pharmacist to help ensure you are sticking to your medication regimen. This once a month appointment day also helps to increase the dialog between the patient and the pharmacist, which allows for additional patient care services.
What Are the Benefits of Med Sync?
One of the common problems people encounter is missing doses of their regular medications. Medication synchronization programs can make you more likely to take them. Med sync eliminates the need to call the pharmacist to order multiple prescription refills, allows you the convenience of making fewer trips to the pharmacy and provides you with an opportunity to meet with an Aubrey Pharmacy pharmacist on a monthly basis to discuss your medications.
How Does Medication Synchronization Work?
The first step is to talk to your Aubrey Pharmacy pharmacist about enrolling in med sync. Once you have enrolled, we will carefully review all of your medications that are ongoing each month and develop a plan to synchronize them, then you pick them up on a day each month that is the most convenient for you.
- Someone from the pharmacy may call you about a week prior to confirm your pick up date and to identify any changes that need to take place before your prescriptions are filled.
- All changes to your medications will be reviewed and the pharmacist will prepare each prescription, then create one package for you to pick up on the scheduled date.
- You will pick up all of your prescriptions on your scheduled date, at which time you can talk with the pharmacist about any concerns or questions you may have about your medications.
More than half of all patients miss doses of their medications because they didn’t refill their prescriptions before they ran out. Through med sync, the pharmacist at Aubrey Pharmacy proactively refills your prescriptions, so you don’t have to remember to call the pharmacy and they will work closely with you to make sure your medications are working for you and being taken correctly. Medication synchronization is extremely helpful for patients who are taking multiple and ongoing monthly medications, patients who are new to chronic drug therapy and to the elderly.
